Massive Release Soon !

The end of the year is going to be a great time for EXM Games, but even better for the gamers.

After pushing several projects further from their deadlines, we noticed that several of them are going to release very close to each other. Such titles as the Crazy Memory Remake, Super Zombie Desperation, Zombie Rock, Commander X (previously called X2230 invaders). It seems Demon Runner is going to join this list...well not totally. We have pushed demon runner into the 3D territory, so now we label it Epic Demon Runner. However, we also believe that the 2D prototype was pretty cool, so we plan to launch it as a standalone small game.

Zombie Rock release date has been pushed to October 4 so we can address some issues. Finally, Super Zombie Desperation development is going smoothly. We have to say that the development of the game as been a challenge, as you all can see, we are trying to mimic a first person gameplay using 2D graphics while taking advantage of the features a touchscreen can offer. The challenge lies into being able to keep the atmosphere of a true horror game while using 2D graphics, due to this we can be sure that the gamers will be able to play something different to what they are used to.

Crazy Memory Re-Release

The sleeper hit Crazy Memory is getting a Unity Remake.

Crazy Memory Icon

Back in 2012, when the mobile plugins for Unity were not available for free, we used to code our games with Java using Eclipse as an IDE along with other libraries like AndEngine. Our latest games such as the upcoming Zombie Rock, Super Zombie Desperation and Demon Runner are being developed with Unity. Seeing how much performance was increased, both in the development workflow and the in-game performance, we couldn't help but use it to recreate some of our old games.

Crazy Memory was a cool game for casual audiences, but it never saw the light as much as Zombie Desperation did. Hopefully this Unity powered version is better received.

On another news, we are looking to set a studio very soon, as well as ending the "Startup" phase of our company. This means there will be many changes to the company, including a possible change of name and logo. We'll let everyone know.

And finally, Zombie Rock will be releasing this October 1st.

Zombie Rock is a small game developed by EXM Games but directed by Dotted Music. The gameplay of the game consist in tapping the screen to kill zombies, just like Zombie Desperation. However you will be able listen to some tracks of Flesh Roxon's album "Flesh to the bone" while the action is going on.

Look forward to play it next week

Old Gun Shot and Whip Motivator

Hello Everyone

We were recently asked about the reason why we developed the apps "Gun Shot" and "Whip Motivator". It seems that whoever looks around our small library of games seems tempted to test both apps. These apps were built around the times where EXM Games recently started working. By building them we learned very important info about the Android Market. They also provided small revenue which helped with the development of our other games. Right now we aren't providing support for those apps anymore but we liked them to remain at Google Play as a piece of the history of our company.

Whoever read this and said "What the heck are they talking about ?". Feel free to check the following apps.  By using them you'll support EXM Games.

The number one provider of motivation at EXM Games, the whip motivator.

And an app for if you ever wanted to say "die" indirectly.

Even nowadays we build small apps to test new marketing techniques and new ways to generate income. If you ever wanted to create a videogame development company, you better pick some books about marketing and finances, you'll need to know about everything.

On another news, the development of Super Zombie Desperation is doing great. In our future plans, resides the release of SZD this Halloween and the idea of developing a game for Christmas, also a small warm up to prepare you for Demon Runner, at this stage everything is possible, but like on any game company, whoever decides the destiny of the games are the players.

Hardcore becomes Super

EXM Games as begun to work on a quick remake of Zombie Desperation to keep you entertained this Halloween before Demon Runner reaches top development. Many of you must remember that we announced Zombie Desperation: Hardcore Edition a few months ago.

Today we announce that HARDCORE becomes SUPER

Super Zombie Desperation promises to be everything the original version could not be.

"Zombie Desperation was a marketing test, we really didn't focus on the gameplay, leaving us wishing that some ideas were implemented. We obtained the information we wanted, but we never thought that Zombie Desperation would do that well on the market, specially because it is a self-published game. I think the game deserves better"  Mario Hernandez - Creative Director

And so... the project was born. Originally Hardcore Edition was supposed have 2 more levels and several other small changes. Super Zombie Desperation will contain new enemies, boss battles, HD redesigns of some of the old levels and 6 new ones along with their blood thirsty musical tracks.

Some content that was cut from the original version will surface, like this track by Danny Hochstatter

Pretty sick right ?, look forward to play the game this Halloween.

New game & The way of the indie dev

With Zombie Rock release around the corner. Other companies are growing interested in hiring EXM Games to develop games for their franchises and use them as powerful marketing tools.

Now that our work with Dotted Music is almost over, we have started working on a casual game for Alienation Xtreme. The game will take place in space, where several spaceships will try to destroy yours. Gameplay wise, the player will have to tap the spaceships to destroy them, however as the game progresses, new enemies with different behaviors will appear making the taping much harder. The tentative name of the game is "x2230 Invaders" and his target audience will be young gamers, so no blood splashes this time. The app will be released on Google play prior to the app-store. Please look forward to play it.

On another topic, If you are looking to break your way into the game industry, this might be your time.

The Unity3D folks are planning to integrate 2D development tools to their engine.

Sure, there are many engines that offer you the tools to develop 2D games, however Unity is one of the engines that can develop for a wide range range of platforms. From mobile devices to game consoles, everything you need is there.

So if you start developing small games with Unity now, you might be able to develop console games in a year or two. Who knows ?, but the tools are there.

The way of the Indie dev is hard, but not an impossible one.

Back to the blood splashes, we are planning to release an in-house game this Halloween. Hopefully our development teams will make it in time and deliver you some nightmares. We'll post more info about it soon.
